The McGovern Ceili Dancers, under the direction of Shelagh   McGovern, was founded in June of 1999 with the philosophy that while Irish dance is a vigorous and demanding form of dance, it can be experienced in an atmosphere that is relaxed, supportive and, most importantly, fun.

Based in Dayton, Ohio, the McGovern Ceili Dancers comprises female and male Irish dancers whose ages range from from pre-K to adult.

Widely recognized in both the Dayton, Troy & West Lafayette IN areas for their upbeat performances, the McGovern Ceili Dancers are proud members of Cumann Rince Naisiunta (pronounced koo-mun, rin-ka, now-shun-tuh)  or simply referred as "CRN"  the National Dance Association of Ireland.
