The McGovern Ceili Dancers, under the direction of Shelagh   McGovern, was founded in June of 1999 with the philosophy that while Irish dance is a vigorous and demanding form of dance, it can be experienced in an atmosphere that is relaxed, supportive and, most importantly, fun.

Based in Dayton, Ohio, the McGovern Ceili Dancers comprises female and male Irish dancers whose ages range from from pre-K to adult.

Widely recognized in both the Dayton and Troy areas for their upbeat performances, the McGovern Ceili Dancers are proud members of Cumann Rince Naisiunta (pronounced koo-mun, rin-ka, now-shun-tuh)  or simply referred as "CRN"  the National Dance Association of Ireland.
About the Instructor:

Shelagh McGovern has been teaching Irish dance for 19 years. She is a native Dayton, Ohio, resident who is actively involved in many Irish organizations within the Dayton community.   She is currently studying to receive her certification from CRN.  Living and breathing Irish dance since she was five years old, Shelagh has competed in many national competitions as a soloist and team member up through the championship level.
